They’ve only gotten better after thousands of meals and hundreds of dishwasher cycles.

I did a lot of research before building my wedding registry last year. After adding the Casper dog bed my partner insisted we get, he wisely left it to me to sort through the rest. The kitchen, after all, is my domain, and I wanted to fill it with quality pieces that were just as stylish as they were functional.
I registered for the prerequisite Le Creuset Dutch ovens and updated my stockpots before finally turning my attention to dinnerware. Enter Fable: the Vancouver-based company bringing the craftsmanship of Portuguese ceramicists to the mainstream. It’s now been over a year since I started using the brand’s ceramic plates and bowls, and I grow more in love with them every day. Follow my lead and snag the Fable Base Dinnerware set for yourself while it’s 30% off through August 11.

Since I was starting from scratch with my dishes, the dinnerware set made the most sense for me with four each of the dinner plates, salad plates, breakfast bowls, and pasta bowls. Because I got three sets (for 12 place settings total), I chose to mix and match the brand’s semi-matte speckled white and its midnight blue for a dramatic look. While I love the striking juxtaposition when I layer the white over the deep blue, they also have softer shades like beachgrass green, desert taupe, stone blue, dove gray, cloud white, glossy white, and blush pink.
Beyond the gorgeous colors and timeless design, what distinguishes these dishes is their functionality. I pull out the pasta bowls most often because I’ve fully hopped on the “blate” bandwagon, but every item has seen its fair share of use. After thousands of meals, hundreds of dishwasher cycles, and plenty of stints in the microwave, they have never stained, scratched, or shattered. The brand says they’re also oven-safe up to 450°F, although I’ve never tested this out for myself.
My awe of these dishes is reflected in the comments section on the Fable website. It reads like a love letter written by 3,500 happy customers who regularly throw out terms like “perfect,” “beautiful,” “elegant,” and “sturdy.”
Take my advice, and that of thousands of others, and shop the Fable summer sale before it ends on August 11.
