Nov 17, 2023LEVEL Decorates Airbus A330 With Magician's Face To Fly To New York
The airline said the aircraft gave the entertainer his "flight to Broadway."
LEVEL, a low-cost carrier based in Barcelona, introduced a special livery titled "El Mago Pop" on an Airbus A330 last week. The airline said the paint scheme is dedicated to Antonio Diaz, a famous illusionist in Spain, and will fly exclusively to New York.
The livery comes as Diaz will showcase his talents in the Big Apple this fall, being scheduled to perform on Broadway. In celebration, LEVEL even decorated the interior of the A330 with Diaz's logo.
According to the long-haul airline, Diaz, known as El Mago Pop on stage, is the highest-grossing European magician in the world. Lucía Adrover, Commercial Director at LEVEL, spoke about the carrier's partnership with Diaz in a statement to Airways Magazine.
"Being the official airline that takes El Mago Pop on its first adventure in the United States is for the company a piece of news that makes us proud and excited."
The aircraft, EC-NHM, is a 15-year-old A330-300, according to Airways Magazine. It is configured with 375 seats in an all-economy layout. In addition to its customized livery, LEVEL added El Mago Pop's logo to some cabin features, such as the headrests. EC-NHM is reportedly leased from Wamos Air, a Spanish charter airline. The carrier will operate the route between Barcelona-El Prat Airport and John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on behalf of LEVEL.
"Our mission is to connect Barcelona with America, and initiatives like this, also allow us to create an added cultural common thread between both destinations, hand in hand with an international benchmark of Catalan entertainment and talent such as El Mago Pop," Androver explained.

On Thursday, LEVEL unveiled the aircraft to Diaz in a ceremony and said the A330 would connect New York to Barcelona daily.
"This morning we presented at the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport the vinyl plane with the image of El Mago Pop, who starts today in it, his flight to Broadway," the airline said. "Until next September, it will be the aircraft that makes the daily flight from Barcelona to the Big Apple."
The Spanish entertainer will be performing in New York this fall. From August 12-27, 2023, he is slated to perform 18 shows on Broadway, according to Airways Magazine.
Founded in 2017 by the International Airlines Group, LEVEL offers nonstop service to six destinations in North and South America from its base in Barcelona: New York, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston. The airline will also reportedly increase flight frequencies between Barcelona, Boston, and Santiago de Chile. LEVEL's fleet consists of seven A330-200s, operated by Iberia, and the one A330-300, which is operated by Wamos.
Despite busy travel periods, the airline said it "always" offers affordable prices because it believes that passengers should be able to decide how they want their trip to be, what services they wish to pay for, and what they potentially would like to do without.
The airline has different rates, featuring various services catering to each passenger.
"You can reserve your seat, food on board, check luggage, and have the comfort kit on board (an all-inclusive, so to speak)," the airline said. "You can fly in the Premium cabin and have it all (including extra space). You can also pay less, travel with hand luggage, and bring your food from home."
